Dear Blog....I've missed you.

What is a blog?  That is the question.

I've missed blogging
but it was starting to take up so much time when I had so many other things to do.
Lately I've been thinking of it a lot
and how I can fit it back into my life.
I am most certainly not a social butterfly but rather a homebody almost to the extreme
but even at home, I am always busy with some chore, craft or pleasure.

Spending a couple hours of blogging needed to be cut down on the priority list.

But I want to do this for me
Not that I haven't enjoyed the folks I used to follow, both reading their blogs and receiving their comments on my blog.

For now though, I'm going to tippie toe back into blog world, through the back door
and just slip inside.

This time I am blogging for me and will have to use some self discipline
Something I sorely lack.
I'm not going to spend time wandering around other blogs,
which is not to say I don't want to,
but that I have to keep my priorities.

My blog is for me.
My memories, thoughts, feelings, experiences.
It's meant to be a record of who I was, am and will be.
Something to have printed and leave as a legacy, something to look back on

Something for me.

I'm leaving the comment box open
But I don't expect many if any comments
Because I know I'm being selfish here.

But this time its for me.

With love, from me.

  2. I think you have the right attitude. Blogging should be fun and for your pleasure. Sometimes I think my posts are too long – then I think “if no one read it, so be it.” I write my recollections so that my grand children will be able to read about my past in France and I write the posts on my trips with many photos because my husband has onset Alzheimer and can’t remember them but if he sees the pictures, he remembers. If other bloggers read my posts, it makes me happy and I enjoy reading their comments, but I don’t write my posts as if they were magazine articles. So I think you are absolutely right – write for yourself and your pleasure – it is your blog.

  3. It is your blog and your life and you do it your way. There's so much else that requires we play by the rules and do what we are directed. Let it be as you will and feel the power of doing it just for you. And, that's the only reason to blog. That, and I have to say, some of the most wonderful and creative minds I've been honored to read in blog land. It's worth that in spades. Welcome back.

  4. I'm glad that you're back, have missed your posts a lot. But I recognize your feelings about the blog life. Sometimes there's just too much going on but as long as there are things we want to do we should be happy. Hope your having a wonderful summer!

  5. Yep - hit the nail on the head, so to speak. I too found it was starting to become all-consuming, especially the year I did a Project 365. Although I do enjoy all aspects of blogging, I've cut back considerably. Other events (family especially) take priority, although I still make photos almost every day. I'm putting together more photo books and calendars for family and myself and usually limit blogging to once/week (or less, depending on time). Our very poor internet connection also made visiting other blogs a painful (and @#^%$ frustrating) experience. With our new internet provider it's become a little less tedious.

    Here's to happy blogging.
